This Order applies in relation to Wales, comes into force on 30 June 2006. The Order makes provision for the issue of phytosanitary certificates and reforwarding phytosanitary certificates for export of plants, plant products or other objects to third countries to satisfy the requirements of those countries' phytosanitary regulations. Article 3 provides for the making of applications for and the issue of phytosanitary certificates and phytosanitary certificates for re-export. Article 4 provides for the making of applications for pre-export services and the carrying out of such services by authorised officers. Article 5 and Schedules 3 and 4 prescribe the fees payable by applicants for phytosanitary certificates, phytosanitary certificates for re-export and payment of fees for pre-export services. Article 6 provides that it is an offence knowingly or recklessly to make a false statement or to intentionally fail to disclose material information for the purpose of obtaining the issue of a certificate. A Regulatory Appraisal has been prepared in respect of this Order.
