Explanatory note

This Order, which applies to Wales and ceases to have effect on 1st February 2003, temporarily dis-applies and replaces the Pigs (Records, Identification and Movement) Order 1995 (S.I. 1995/11, as amended) (“the 1995 Order”). It consolidates (with amendments) the temporary changes to the 1995 Order, made by The Pigs (Records, Identification and Movement) (Interim Measures) (Wales) Order 2002 (S.I. 2002/281 (W.33)) (“the 2002 Order”). In addition to the changes made by the 2002 Order, this Order— a extends the period that the measures remain in force to 1st February 2003; b removes the various forms of declaration set out in the Schedules to the 1995 Order and instead requires that all movements of pigs (other than pet pigs) are accompanied by a movement document containing certain information (article 9); and c requires, and sets out the form of, a movement licence for the movement of pet pigs (article 10). A regulatory appraisal has not been prepared for this Order.

How Parliament handled it

Parliament's Statutory Instruments service records procedure from May 2017 onwards, and this instrument predates it. That is a limit of the source, not a statement that nothing happened.
