These Regulations impose a 50 miles per hour speed limit on the westbound carriageway of the M3 Motorway and the link roads leading from the clockwise and anticlockwise M25 Motorway to the westbound carriageway of the M3 Motorway, in the interests of road safety. An impact assessment has not been produced for this instrument as it has no significant impact on business, charities or voluntary bodies and costs imposed on the public sector are less than £5 million. A temporary order, made under sections 14(1)(a) and (b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, imposing a 50 miles per hour speed limit has been in force since 27th January 2007 and expires on 26th July 2009. These Regulations will replace the temporary order.
