These Regulations impose a 40 miles per hour speed limit on the eastbound and westbound carriageways and the slip roads leading to and from the M25 and Terminal 5 at Heathrow in the interests of road safety. A regulatory impact assessment has not been produced for this instrument as it has no significant impact on business, charities or voluntary bodies. A temporary Order, made under sections 14(1)(b) and 122A of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, imposing a 40 mile per hour speed limit has been in force since 19th December 2005. These Regulations will replace the temporary Order, with one minor variation to one of the starting points for signing purposes.
