This Order brings into force on 8th March 2000 the remaining provisions (with certain exceptions) of the Osteopaths Act 1993 (“the Act”). The provisions not being commenced by the Order relate to offences committed by persons describing themselves as osteopaths or in similar ways without being registered with the General Osteopathic Council (“the GOsC”), and provisions relating to the election and appointment of the Chairman and members of the GOsC after the end of the relevant transitional periods defined in the Act.
