This Order authorises the Borough Council of Gateshead to construct a new bridge for pedestrians and cyclists across the River Tyne from the Newcastle Quayside to Gateshead Quays with associated ship protection works. The bridge is to rotate on its axis to allow the passage of maritime traffic.
