These Regulations revoke and re-enact with amendments the Animals and Animal Products (Import and Export) Regulations 1992 as amended. Amongst other changes they implement the remainder (except for article 10.2 for imports and article 10.3) of Council Directive 92/65/EEC laying down animal health requirements governing trade in and imports into the Community of animals, semen, ova and embryos not subject to animal health requirements laid down in specific Community rules referred to in Council Directive 90/425/EEC (OJ No. L268, 14.9.92, p.54). So far as intra-Community trade is concerned, they implement the provisions of Council Directive 92/118/EEC laying down animal and public health requirements governing trade in and imports into the Community of products not subject to the said requirements laid down in specific Community rules referred to in Annex A(I) to Directive 89/662/EEC and, as regards pathogens, to Directive 90/425/EEC (OJ No. L62, 15.3.93, p.49). A Compliance Cost Assessment has been prepared and deposited in the library of the House.

What Parliament said about it

Hansard was searched for this instrument by name and returned nothing. That is the ordinary outcome: an instrument laid under the negative procedure is usually never debated, and becomes law without a word said about it in either House.

How Parliament handled it

Parliament's Statutory Instruments service records procedure from May 2017 onwards, and this instrument predates it. That is a limit of the source, not a statement that nothing happened.
