These Regulations prescribe certain periods of time for the purposes of paragraph 10 of Part II of Schedule 1 to the Road Traffic (Driver Licensing and Information Systems) Act 1989. The period of time during which a person may drive a public service vehicle without a public service vehicle driver’s licence is prescribed as one month beginning with the date on which that person passes his test of competence to drive. The period of time, after an application for a licence to drive public service vehicles has been made, during which it is an offence for a person to take a test of competence to drive is prescribed as 21 days beginning with the date of the application for that licence.
