This Order extends to Gibraltar, the provisions of the Merchant Shipping (Liner Conferences) Act 1982 and the regulations which implement that Act (namely the Merchant Shipping (Liner Conferences) (Mandatory Provisions) Regulations 1985, and the Merchant Shipping (Liner Conferences) (Conditions for Recognition) Regulations 1985). The purpose of the Merchant Shipping (Liner Conferences) Act 1982 is to enable effect to be given to the United Nations Convention on a Code of Conduct for Liner Conferences, 1974.
