These Regulations provide for the registration of manned mobile submersible apparatus to which the Merchant Shipping Act 1974 applies. A register of such craft will be maintained at the Department of Trade and registration will be obligatory. A fee will be payable on application for registration. The Regulations require that the Secretary of State be notified of changes in the registered particulars and require the registration number to be displayed on the internal structure and to be conspicuously marked on the external structure of the craft. Registration of a craft may be cancelled if there is a change of ownership which has not been notified in accordance with the Regulations and the register may be amended if the craft is destroyed or withdrawn from use.
