These Regulations, made under the Safeguarding Vulnerable Groups (Northern Ireland) Order 2007 (“Order”), make provision relating to the criteria prescribed for the purposes of various paragraphs in Schedule 1 to that Order. The Regulations come into operation on 1 April 2010. Regulation 3 amends the Safeguarding Vulnerable Groups (Prescribed Criteria and Miscellaneous Provisions) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2009 which prescribe the criteria which determine whether a person should be included automatically in the children’s barred list or the adults’ barred list maintained under Article 6 of the Order.

What Parliament said about it

Hansard was searched for this instrument by name and returned nothing. That is the ordinary outcome: an instrument laid under the negative procedure is usually never debated, and becomes law without a word said about it in either House.

How Parliament handled it

Parliament's Statutory Instruments service records procedure from May 2017 onwards, and this instrument predates it. That is a limit of the source, not a statement that nothing happened.
