These Regulations provide that the Department may make payments for the purposes of Title IV of Council Regulation (EC) 1198/2006 on the European Fisheries Fund. The Council regulation provides for assistance (Community Aid) to be paid from the European Fisheries Fund established by the European Community in respect of certain categories of investments, projects or actions (“relevant operations”) in the fisheries and aquaculture sector.
