This Order revokes and replaces the Road Traffic (Fixed Penalty) Order (Northern Ireland) 1997. The Order increases the fixed penalties for fixed penalty offences as follows— a the penalty for offences which do not involve obligatory endorsement is increased from £20 to £30; and b the penalty for offences involving obligatory endorsement is increased from £40 to £60. The Order comes into operation on 1st March 2001 and applies only to offences committed on or after that date.
